Oh so humbling

Home education provides so many opportunities to see how much information you've forgotten over a lifetime. I told Bobo recently that water boils at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and didn't even flinch when her next question asked: what is a normal body temperature for humans? "So our blood boils when we have a fever?" Oops.

Today she needed to list all the perfect squares up to 100. Are you kidding me? She's eight. Down to google we went. I'm sure I could have figured it out on my own (?!), but why not teach her how to do a little research as well?

Don't ya just love their smart little questions- that was good! But doesn't water boil at 212 degrees F ? That's what I taught my 3rd grader this fall...we just went throught the perfect squares too- Saxon 3? Having such a hard time this month staying on track! Oh well... gotta do the fun things too, right?

Jill, yes, you're absolutely right about the water boiling temp. I was just pointing out my own ignorance! We must be at about the same point of Saxon 3. I love Saxon math!

Our children are still quite young, but we are considering homeschooling them initially to around middle school. How long do most choose to home school their children.
